Favorite EPs of 2020
These are the EPs I enjoyed most throughout 2020. There’s another post for full albums.
Zeal & Ardor - Wake of a Nation Protests in support of Black Lives Matter were one of the defining moments of 2020. Zeal & Ardor dropped this bombshell of an EP in October. Experimental gospel-infused post-black metal explores racial justice and the plight of BIPOC in the United States. This album is heavy.

Favorite albums of 2020
I didn’t realize how much music from this year I enjoyed until I sat down to list these albums. It was hard to narrow it down to even this set. This list comprises only full-length albums. I’ve added another post for EPs.
Album(s) of the Year Any one of the albums of this list is a contender and my “top” pick will change on a daily or even hourly basis.

Bandcamp Day May 1 2020
Since the last Bandcamp day was so successful, Bandcamp announced that they’re going to waive their commissions the first Friday of each month through July.
Here are some more great albums to pick up this round.
Sölicitor Born from the ashes of Seattle’s Substratum, Sölicitor is classic speed metal. It’s fsst, melodic and loads of fun. I had already purchased the EP when it came out, and preordered Spectral Devastation last Bandcamp day.

Support These Artists on Bandcamp Today
Many artists are struggling after having been forced to cancel tours due to coronavirus. Cancelled tours mean lost revenue, since artists have to buy all that merch up-front. If they can’t sell it on tour then they’re at a loss. AngryMetalGuy has a list of cancellations with links for buying music and merch. Bandcamp is also waiving their commissions for 24 hours on March 20, 2020 in order to make sure as much money as possible goes to the artists.
